Shaun Whitley

This is me. Age 2. I haven’t changed much except now I can grow a beard. No matter. This little guy is still me and I’m still him. 

 As an actor, musician (guitar, bass, violin, piano, mandolin), composer, and Jeff-nominated music director in Chicago, I’ve worked with Chicago Shakespeare, Marriott Lincolnshire, Drury Lane - Oakbrook, American Blues, and TUTA, to name a few. At the Apollo Theater - Chicago, I performed as “Carl Perkins” in Chicago’s longest running Broadway musical, Million Dollar Quartet.

I play bass and sing with Chicago-based ragtime/rock (sometimes a-billy)/barbershop trio band, The Oh Boys. During the morning hours you can find me sharing music with kids in my program, Sing Out! with Mr Shaun, at preschools in Chicagoland.

Finally, I have a beautiful wife and two lovely children who make everyday an adventure.

Act.

I’ve been acting professionally since 2001. Unprofessionally, since 1981. Mainly with an instrument in my hand. (That’s me flying through the air.)

Play.

Music is my life. I make it. I devour it. Rinse. Repeat. 

Teach.

I am a passionate practitioner of early childhood music with my program, Sing Out! with Mr Shaun. If you run a preschool, I’ll bring music to the littlest of ears.
